Reduce the poverty rate
In early 2021, Krong No district had 829 poor households, accounting for 4.2% of the total number of households. Of these, 601 poor households were ethnic minorities.
After 3 years of implementing the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction for the period 2021 - 2025, Krong No district has achieved many outstanding achievements. By the end of 2023, the average income per capita increased to 56.8 million VND per year. The poverty rate in the whole district decreased to 3.78%.
By the end of 2023 and early 2024, the district will have 748 poor households and 2,278 near-poor households. It is expected that by the end of 2024, the rate of poor and near-poor households in the district will continue to decrease compared to 2023.
In fact, over the years, the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction has partly solved the difficulties that people are facing.
For example, in the case of Mr. Tran Cao Cuong, in Krong No district, shared: "Since receiving the national target program at the end of 2023, my family has been very excited, hoping to escape the near-poor household status."
"Policy officers in the commune regularly visit and encourage the family. They also share many experiences in disease prevention so that the cows can grow healthily, multiply the herd quickly, and bring income to the people," Mr. Cuong added.
Focus resources on poverty reduction
Mr. Nguyen Tan Bi - Secretary of the Krong No District Party Committee shared: "One of the most important tasks that the district is focusing on is to accelerate the budget collection progress to arrange counterpart funds for the implementation of national target programs. In particular, programs on sustainable poverty reduction and development of ethnic minority areas".
According to Mr. Bi, one of the effective activities in poverty reduction is that the district has promptly created livelihoods to help local people settle down and improve their family economy.
To effectively achieve the poverty reduction target, the District Party Committee and the People's Committee of Krong No district have urged agencies, units, and People's Committees of communes and towns to speed up the completion of investment procedures, construction, and disbursement of capital plans in accordance with regulations.
The District Party Committee and People's Committee of Krong No district determined to continue to improve the capacity to organize, manage and implement national target programs.

At the same time, the authorities of Krong No district will continue to strengthen information and communication work in organizing and implementing national target programs on sustainable poverty reduction.
Communication and propaganda work on the national target program in the coming time must be suitable to local characteristics and the capacity and reception needs of each household, each area, and each target group in each locality.
According to the People's Committee of Krong No district, in the period of 2021 - 2025, each year the locality will strive to reduce the poverty rate by 3% or more.
Particularly, poverty reduction among ethnic minorities will be reduced by 5% or more according to the multidimensional poverty standard for the period 2021-2025.
