In 2025, Can Tho City will have 2,017 citizens enlisted to serve in units under the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security. The Military Service Council at all levels has deployed public, fair and regulated military recruitment, ensuring the quality of recruitment. The military recruitment camp and military handover ceremony in 2025 will take place on February 12 and 13.
As a female master who just graduated with honors from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Can Tho University, Nguyen Thuy Nhu Anh (25 years old, Hung Loi ward, Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city) wrote an application to volunteer to join the army.
It is known that Nhu Anh was born into a family with grandparents and parents working in the military and police, so since childhood Nhu Anh longed to wear a soldier's uniform.

Nhu Anh confided that in 2018, after graduating from high school, Nhu Anh took the entrance exam to the police academy but failed. Therefore, Nhu Anh studied Natural Resources and Environment at Can Tho University. After graduating from university, Nhu Anh continued her studies for a master's degree and graduated in December 2024 with honors.
As Anh shared, at the end of 2024, he wrote a volunteer application to join the army and was very supported by his family members.
“At first, when I submitted my volunteer application, I was very worried because I didn't know if I would pass the application review and health check-up. But when I received the decision to join the army, I felt so happy, I wanted to cry," Nhu Anh happily said.
As Anh believes, the military environment is a place to train courage, discipline and has many challenges that will help you become more mature, no matter how difficult it is, you must try to overcome it. As a young person, whether male or female, you must have the responsibility to contribute your youth to the country.
Also born into a family with a military tradition, Nguyen Thi Thu Hien (23 years old, Binh Thuy ward, Binh Thuy district) has dreamed of wearing a soldier's uniform since childhood.

In 2020, Thu Hien graduated from high school and took the entrance exam to the military school but failed. Thu Hien transferred to study Vocal Music at Can Tho College of Culture and Arts. After that, she continued to study at university, majoring in Music Pedagogy at Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music. Although studying music, Hien still dreamed of wearing a soldier's uniform and wrote an application to join the army.

“The day I received the decision to leave for military service, I was so happy that I told everyone in my family. Wearing the blue uniform and serving in the Vietnam People's Army is a source of pride for me. I promise to complete all assigned tasks well,” Thu Hien said.
