On November 24, Colonel Le Anh Vuong, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Lam Dong Provincial Military Command, said that the forces are urgently evacuating 30 households, with 150 people in Lac Thien 2 village, D'ran commune, to prevent landslides due to cracks in the land.

On the morning of November 24, the military force coordinated with local authorities to directly inspect the scene of the crack on Trang Bang hill, Lac Thien 2 village. Currently, the crack has stretched over 700m on the top of the hill, with an opening of about 50cm and a drop of about 50cm.

Cracks and landslides appeared in the area of dangerous high hills. The surrounding land is soaked with water, with a great risk of landslides. Outside the hill, many areas near people's houses have collapsed with large volumes of land.
Currently, the main soldiers of the units of Military Region 7; local soldiers of the Provincial Military Command, infantry Regiment 994, Defense Command of Region 1 - Duc Trong and Lam Dong Police are urgently supporting households to evacuate people and property to safety.

Mr. Nguyen Lam, a resident in this area, said that for many years, people living here have had no problems. The appearance of a large crack on the hilltop and landslides right behind the residential area as it is now makes people very worried.
"My family has 4 generations living together with 20 people, and is currently urgently moving to live in a safe area. With the timely help of the forces, the relocation of our family was less difficult" - Mr. Lam worried.

As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on the evening of November 23, in Duong Moi village, 6 households with 20 people were also evacuated due to cracks and landslides on the slope.
According to the authorities, in D'ran commune, there are 3 areas at great risk of landslides, including: Duong Moi village, Lac Thien 2 village and Phu Thuan 3 village. Of which, the most severe is in Lac Thien 2 village.
