At the scene, hundreds of engineers and workers are working continuously to complete items on all 3 traffic floors of the intersection. This is a project that plays a particularly important role in the overall Ring Road 3, as it is the intersection of 6 key traffic axes: Hanoi Highway, Metro Line 1, Ring Road 3, DT743A Road, Nguyen Xien Street and Dong Nai Bridge.
With its strategic location, Tan Van is considered the "connecting point of the economic triangle" of Ho Chi Minh City - Binh Duong - Dong Nai, and is also a vibrant industrial center of the Southeast region. The scale of the project includes 3 traffic floors, 5 overpass branches, requiring complex technical handling in limited space conditions and a very large existing traffic volume.
In the last days of November, construction units are mobilizing maximum human resources and means for day and night construction. In the National Highway 1 area, many concrete pillars of the overpass branch have been completed, and the remaining pillars are being urgently constructed by workers.
The lower branch of the elevated Ring Road 3 has entered the girder protection phase; many other overpass piers are also preparing to install connecting girders. On the 3rd floor of the most complicated area of the project, the girder work is taking place at high intensity, in the context of narrow construction sites and must ensure that it does not affect existing traffic routes.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board), Tan Van intersection belongs to the XL1 package - the latest start package among the construction packages passing through Binh Duong province. However, up to now, the entire site has been handed over to the contractor, allowing the simultaneous implementation of many construction teams to "catch up" with the overall progress of the project.
A representative of the Traffic Department said that the XL1 package is being accelerated with the goal of opening to technical traffic by the end of 2025, nearly a year earlier than the original plan. The construction organization work is maintained continuously to ensure quality, safety and overall progress.
From Tan Van intersection, Ring Road 3 starts an elevated section of 14.7 km, playing an important role in separating the flow of vehicles out of the inner city, reducing pressure on Hanoi Highway and National Highway 1. When completed, this will be an inter-regional traffic link, directly connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Dong Nai - Binh Duong, promoting the economic - industrial flow of the area.
The 76.3 km long Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, with a total investment of VND 75,378 billion, passes through Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Binh Duong), Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, and up to now, the entire route has reached about 63% of the construction volume.
If the progress is maintained as it is now, the entire project, including the overpass and expressway, will be completed and put into operation in 2026. Ring Road 3 is expected to solve the problem of congestion in Ho Chi Minh City, while opening up new development space for the key economic region in the South.
