Cars ignore prohibition signs, park on sidewalks and alleys in Da Nang

Da Nang - Despite the prohibition signs, many vehicle owners still brazenly park their cars on the sidewalk and alleys, causing traffic insecurity.

Recently, the authorities of wards in Da Nang City have regularly taken action to handle cars that have been parked illegally. However, this situation still recurs, affecting the urban beauty, posing a potential risk of traffic accidents.

According to records, on Ton Duc Thang, Pham Nhu Xuong, Me Suot, Au Co, Ha Huy Tap, Ho Tuong, Ly Trien streets... and many other streets, illegal parking often occurs.

For example, on Ly Trien and Ho Tuong streets (An Khe ward, Thanh Khe district), there are more than a dozen cars and trucks of many households and businesses that are densely parked on the sidewalk all day and night.

Prolonged parking on the sidewalk has obstructed pedestrians and made public spaces cramped and suffocating.

A resident living nearby shared that households with cars should proactively find suitable parking locations to ensure urban aesthetics and safety for pedestrians.

"Cars are parked on the sidewalk, pedestrians are forced to move on the road, so accidents are likely to happen, it is very dangerous," this person added.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ba Viet, Head of An Khe Ward Police, Thanh Khe District, Ly Trien Street has a relatively wide sidewalk, so people have taken advantage of it as a parking space.

However, occupying the pedestrian section of the road to park is against the regulations. In the past, the unit has regularly sent patrol forces on Ly Trien Street as well as other areas in the ward to promptly detect and strictly handle violations.

"Along with fines, the unit also strengthens propaganda to people about regulations and sanctions for violations so that people understand and comply. Thereby, raising people's awareness, contributing to the construction of civilized streets" - Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ba Viet informed.

Similarly, on Me Suot, Ton Duc Thang, Pham Nhu Xuong streets (Hoa Khanh Nam ward, Lien Chieu district), cars are parked on the sidewalk and in alleys. It is worth mentioning that at the beginning of the routes, there are signs prohibiting them.

According to records, at some alleys on Ton Duc Thang and Pham Nhu Xuong streets, many vehicle owners carelessly parked their vehicles for hours, despite the prohibition signs. This narrowed the path, affecting the circulation of other vehicles. During rush hour, many people have to swerve a little to move.

Welcoming her children at a school located in the heart of Ton Duc Thang Street, Ms. Truong Nguyen Anh Thy (Lien Chieu District) shared that every day she sees at least 2-3 cars parked right at the heart of the heart.

"The road is narrow, many people pass by and vehicles are parked in rows, causing loss of visibility and easy collisions," Ms. Thy was upset.

Discussing this issue, Mr. Nguyen Thien Chuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, said that in the past, the ward has regularly directed the Ward Police to patrol and remind people to strictly comply with regulations on parking and parking cars.

However, the situation of re-encroaching on sidewalks, alleys, and alleys to make parking spaces is still complicated, causing difficulties for road users and frustration among the people.

"To ensure traffic order and safety in the area, in the coming time, we will continue to direct the ward police to strengthen reviews to detect and thoroughly handle cases of slow progress" - Mr. Chuong emphasized.
