On December 2, at the 1st Congress of the Farmers' Union of Can Tho City, term 2025 - 2030, Hero of Labor, engineer Ho Quang Cua - author of ST25 rice variety was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City.
This is a worthy recognition of Mr. Ho Quang Cua's persistent contributions to the agriculture of the Mekong Delta and the Vietnamese rice industry. This honor is even more special when ST25 rice has just won the highest position in the international arena for the third time, continuing to affirm the leading position of Vietnamese rice on the world food map.
Previously, on November 9, at the 17th Global Rice Trade Conference organized by The Rice Trader (TRT) in Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Vietnam's Ong Cua ST25 Rice and Cambodia's Phka Romdoul Rice both won the first prize in the "World's Best Rice" Contest in 2025.
In 2019, at the 11th World Rice Trade Conference in Manila (Philippines), Vietnam's ST25 rice surpassed rice from countries such as Thailand and Cambodia to receive the highest award for the first time.
By 2023, at the Global Rice Trade Conference organized by The Rice Trader in Cebu (Philippines), ST25 rice will continue to receive this noble title.
Up to now, ST25 rice researched by engineer Ho Quang Cua and his colleagues has won the highest prize 3 times at the World's Best Rice Competition. Being continuously in the top of the best types of rice in the world for many consecutive years affirms the leading position of Vietnamese rice on the global rice map.
ST25 rice products of Ho Quang Tri Private Enterprise were also recognized as national OCOP in 2025.
