A representative of Dong Bai - Cai Vieng ferry terminal said that from early morning on April 30, the number of passengers traveling through Dong Bai ferry to Cat Ba island increased dramatically compared to normal days. While before that, on April 28 and 29, the number of passengers passing through the ferry was sparse, only about more than 3,000 passengers/day.

Today, the wharf has mobilized 100% of its staff to work from 4am, earlier than the ferry's operating hours. The police and border guards were also present to coordinate traffic regulation.
Previously, on April 23, the City People's Committee issued an urgent dispatch on urgent plans to direct traffic through Dong Bai ferry.
Specifically, the city temporarily suspends the transportation of cars and Dong Bai trucks (in the direction from Cat Hai to Cat Ba island) from April 26 to May 4 and weekends from May 10 to July 30. The temporary suspension period is from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (except for priority vehicles according to regulations).

During the April 30 and May 1 holiday, the ferry terminal will operate 5 Bay View ferries of nearly 200 tons, running continuously to serve passengers. In addition, there will be a small 20-ton ferry mobilized in case of emergency.
Based on the number of vehicles present at the ferry, the unit is proactive in time, arranged to run earlier than the time prescribed in the morning or run overtime, increase the trip at the end of the day. The wharf mobilizes 100% of human resources, increasing overtime until the service of all passengers, in accordance with the direction of the People's Committee of Hai Phong City.
At Phu Long cable car station, the number of passengers traveling by cable car and bus to Cat Ba island is quite large. The cable car station management unit also arranged 10 electric cars running the Phu Long - Xanh Island Central Bay cable car station to operate continuously to serve and pick up and drop off tourists during the free trial period (until May 15).
