Previously, on the afternoon of September 28, the memorial service for Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha was held at the National Funeral Home (No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi).


On behalf of the family, Mrs. Vo Hoa Binh - the eldest daughter of General Vo Nguyen Giap and his wife Dang Bich Ha - choked up and shared: "This year's 15th day of the 8th lunar month is the day our family had a great separation - our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother - Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha has passed away...".
Ms. Vo Hoa Binh shared that General Vo Nguyen Giap and his wife Dang Bich Ha have been together for more than 60 years, going through many ups and downs in life, long years of war and days of national independence and freedom.
"When our grandparents were apart, each of us felt their desire to be together. That was even more profound during these days. So the old words and wishes of our parents were fulfilled, and the whole family felt truly relieved," shared Ms. Vo Hoa Binh.
Ms. Vo Hoa Binh expressed her gratitude to the leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, ministries, branches, organizations, people and international friends who came to see off and express condolences to the family.

After the funeral, many people came to pay their respects to General Vo Nguyen Giap and his wife at Vung Chua - Yen Island (Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province).
Ms. Tran Thi Than (78 years old, residing in Ngu Thuy commune, Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province) is one of the people who arrived at Vung Chua - Yen Island very early.
"Myself and some veterans left Le Thuy district at 3am to light incense to bid farewell to Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha. We expressed our gratitude and respect to General Vo Nguyen Giap and his wife," Ms. Than confided.
Mrs. Dang Bich Ha - Wife of General Vo Nguyen Giap - passed away at 0:50 on September 17.
Ms. Dang Bich Ha, born in 1928, in Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An province. She is the eldest daughter of Professor Dang Thai Mai - former Minister of Education, the first Director of the Institute of Vietnamese Literature.


At the end of 1946, the wedding of Commander-in-Chief Vo Nguyen Giap and Mrs. Dang Bich Ha was held very simply. For more than two-thirds of a century as a life partner, beside General Vo Nguyen Giap, Mrs. Dang Bich Ha silently acted as a solid rear, accompanying him throughout the arduous years of war until he returned to the world of the good people.
Mrs. Dang Bich Ha and General Vo Nguyen Giap had four children together: Vo Hoa Binh, Vo Hanh Phuc, Vo Dien Bien and Vo Hong Nam.
Vung Chua - Yen Island is the burial place of General Vo Nguyen Giap on October 13, 2013.
