Discovering a 1.6m long magnetic bomb that could easily explode if moving

Quang Tri - The dangerous magnetic bomb was discovered near National Highway 15, and people had to be evacuated to handle it.

On March 18, the Engineering force - Quang Tri Provincial Military Command organized the handling and destruction of a magnetic bomb left over from the war.

Previously, during the organization of the mission in La Lay village (A Ngo commune, Dakrong district, Quang Tri province), the patrol team of the Commune Mobile Police Platoon discovered a bomb at Km10, National Highway 15D.

The Mobile Militia Platoon protected the scene and reported to the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command.

The Engineering force - Quang Tri Provincial Military Command arrived at the scene, mobilizing people living around to evacuate to a safe place.

Through inspection, it was determined that this was a dangerous magnetic bomb, coded MK36 500 bang Anh, containing 80kg of explosives, 160cm long, 27cm bomb diameter.

This type of bomb has a MK32 detonator, which cannot be moved safely, and must be detonated on the spot using remote electronic detonation.

The detonation process went smoothly, ensuring absolute safety for people and vehicles.
