A leader of the People's Committee of Cuong Gian commune said that at around 9:00 a.m. on March 30, while going to sea, fishermen of Cuong Gian commune discovered a male body drifting ashore with identification characteristics of about 40 to 45 years old. Immediately afterwards, the people reported it to the local authorities.
Assessing that the victim's body could be a fisherman on the fishing boat with registration number NA 80809-TS of Nghe An province that had an accident on March 18, Ha Tinh authorities proactively contacted the police of Thuan Long and Van Hai communes (Quynh Luu district, Nghe An) to verify and search for relatives.
A few hours later, the victim's body was identified as Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong (45 years old, permanent address in Van Hai commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An), the captain of a fishing boat with registration number NA 80209-TS that sank in the waters of Quynh Luu on March 18, leaving 3 fishermen missing.
Previously, on the afternoon of March 29, on the coast of Xuan Lien commune (Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh), people also discovered the body of a man washed ashore.
After that, the authorities informed, verified and identified the victim as Mr. Bui Sy Nhat (born in 1977, residing in Thuan Long commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province), a crew member missing in the incident of a fishing boat with registration number NA 80 809-TS sinking on March 18.
Previously, as Lao Dong reported, on March 18, the NA 80-209-TS fishing boat had 4 crew members on board who sank about 20 nautical miles from shore in the waters of Nghe An - Ha Tinh.
In particular, fisherman Tran Van Huu (30 years old, residing in Van Hai commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An) holding a lifebuoy swimming for hours at sea was promptly rescued by another fishing boat and border guards.
The remaining 3 fishermen are missing, and the bodies of the two have been found. Currently, fisherman Le Tuan Anh (born in 2005, residing in Van Hai commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An) is still missing.
