On July 16, the leader of Thu Dau Mot ward said that the locality is developing a plan to rename neighborhoods in Thu Dau Mot ward after implementing the 2-level local government model in the area.
Through review, 37/40 neighborhoods with similar names in the old Phu Cuong, Chanh Nghia, Phu Tho and Hiep Thanh wards were found. The old wards are named after numbers, so the coincidence rate is very high.
The entire Thu Dau Mot ward has only 3 neighborhoods with similar names: Chanh Loc 1, Chanh Loc 2 and Chanh Loc 7.
According to the proposed plan, the name of the new neighborhood can be placed according to the order number, letter name, not the same name as the neighborhood, hamlet or the same name as the commune-level administrative unit of the new Ho Chi Minh City.
The People's Committee of Thu Dau Mot Ward proposes to rename neighborhoods with the names of old administrative units, along with the consecutive numbers from 1 to the end of the number of neighborhoods in each old ward. Specifically as follows:

The leader of Thu Dau Mot ward said that he is currently in the process of collecting public opinions. After collecting opinions and agreeing on the plan, the Ward People's Council will meet to approve it.
