Coffee shop built on agricultural land has not yet remedied violations

LAM HỒNG |

Lam Dong - Although the deadline for overcoming the consequences has expired, the owner of the coffee shop built on agricultural land, encroaching on the Nam Phuong lake corridor is still intact.

As of March 26, the Ohana coffee shop in Bao Loc city (Lam Dong) still maintains illegal construction works on agricultural land, encroaching on the corridor of Nam Phuong 1 lake.

In reality, Ohana coffee shop is still open for business and welcomes customers as usual.

Currently, items such as mixing stalls, toilets and iron frames divided into business areas still exist. An iron bridge about 10m long is still present, creating a photo spot in the middle of the lake.

The canoe that was once parked on the lake was relocated by the authorities and returned to the previously occupied water surface.

A leader of Ward 1 People's Committee said that the deadline for Mr. Nguyen Viet Xuan to correct the violation at Ohana coffee shop has expired.

The ward will coordinate with the authorities of Bao Loc city to inspect the actual problem, then report to the City People's Committee for further instructions.

If Mr. Xuan does not voluntarily dismantle the illegal construction, the Ward People's Committee will propose that the Bao Loc City People's Committee issue a decision on enforcement according to regulations.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "Slow handling of coffee shops violating the construction of 1,171m2 in Bao Loc".

The 1,171m2 coffee shop project along Nam Phuong 1 Lake (Bao Loc City) was not only built on agricultural land but also encroached on the dam safety corridor.

For the above violations, the People's Committee of Bao Loc City issued Decision No. 454 dated March 10, 2025 on "Forced implementation of remedial measures" against Mr. Nguyen Viet Xuan.

The People's Committee of Bao Loc City forced Mr. Nguyen Viet Xuan to restore the land to its original state before violating the provisions of Point a, Clause 4, Article 10 of Decree No. 123/2024/ND-CP dated October 4, 2014 of the Government on administrative sanctions in the field of land.

Along with that, Mr. Nguyen Viet Xuan was forced to return the illegal profits gained from committing administrative violations from December 1, 2024 to January 10, 2025, which were VND 9.979 million. The duration of implementing remedial measures is 15 days, from the date of receipt of this decision.
