Flu vaccine booster
On December 21, information from the People's Committee of Quang Binh province said that recently, 1 sample tested positive for avian influenza virus A/H5N1.
On the other hand, at the end of October 2024, due to the impact of storm No. 6, heavy rain and prolonged flooding in some localities caused pollution of the livestock environment, creating favorable conditions for pathogens to grow and develop. Therefore, the risk of avian influenza in animals arising and spreading in the province in the coming time is very high, especially before, during and after the Lunar New Year.
To proactively prevent and control avian influenza, the Provincial People's Committee requests departments, branches, units and localities to continue to synchronously deploy solutions to prevent and control avian influenza.
Proactively allocate resources to effectively prevent and control avian influenza; increase information and propaganda about the harmful effects and dangers of avian influenza and preventive measures; use cooked poultry and poultry products; absolutely do not eat raw blood pudding.
People's Committees of districts, cities and towns review and organize additional vaccination of poultry flocks that have not been vaccinated in February 2024, ensuring a rate of over 80% of the total flock.
Strengthen inspection and monitoring to promptly detect and thoroughly handle avian influenza outbreaks, preventing widespread spread; direct veterinary agencies to notify health agencies at the same level when detecting avian influenza outbreaks in animals.
Develop a plan for animal disease prevention and control in 2025, proactively allocating funds and resources to promptly and effectively implement disease prevention and control work in livestock, especially avian influenza.
Direct departments, offices, and units to strengthen inspection of veterinary hygiene and food safety conditions at facilities for preliminary processing, processing, trading, transporting, and consuming animals; facilities that purchase animals and animal products for processing into animal feed.
Strengthening epidemic prevention measures
Strictly handle cases of non-compliance with veterinary laws (including wildlife captive facilities) that cause disease spread and handle the responsibilities of relevant agencies, organizations and individuals.
Instruct poultry farmers to strengthen the application of disease prevention and hygiene measures; regularly clean and disinfect with lime powder and chemicals to destroy pathogens; fully vaccinate poultry flocks against diseases.
Strengthen propaganda and instruct people to proactively monitor and promptly report to local authorities and veterinary agencies when poultry is found to be sick or suspected to be sick; absolutely do not buy, sell, slaughter, or consume sick poultry, or dispose of poultry carcasses or untreated livestock waste into the environment; do not use poultry or poultry products of unknown origin; do not participate in illegal trading or transportation of poultry or poultry products.
Ms. Hoang Thi Lan (Le Thuy district) said that promoting the prevention and control of avian influenza helps people feel more secure in the process of raising livestock.
When given specific instructions, it will help people easily identify the consequences if there is no prevention plan. From here, it will be easier for everyone in the process of raising livestock.
