On October 11, the Office of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province said that Chairman of the People's Committee Le Van Dung announced an emergency situation regarding cracks and landslides that endanger the lives of people in village 56B.
Accordingly, from the evening of September 17 to noon of September 19, due to the influence of storm No. 4, localities in Quang Nam experienced moderate to heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain. In village 56B, cracks and subsidence of the ground occurred in an arc shape, located on the top of a hill about 60m from the residential area.
The length of the crack measured and observed is about 125m; the subsidence of the sliding plate is about 1.5m lower than the average natural level; the crack opening is about 1m and the deformation at some points along the observed crack is about 1.5m.
With the current state of cracks and the serious level of impact in the above area, there is a great risk of affecting the safety of life and property of the people of village 56B (Dac Pre commune).
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province has directed the implementation of urgent measures to respond to and overcome the consequences, minimizing damage caused by natural disasters.
Mobilizing forces, means and resources to quickly evacuate and relocate people from dangerous areas; arranging logistics for people at evacuation sites.
