Quang Ninh sets budget revenue target of 55,600 billion VND

Quang Ninh - The Provincial Party Standing Committee has just unanimously agreed to maintain the growth target, with state budget revenue not lower than 55,600 billion VND.

This is one of the important contents agreed upon by the Standing Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee in the conference to listen to and give opinions on the situation and results of the work in the first 9 months of the year and some key tasks in the fourth quarter of 2024. The conference took place on October 1, 2024.

According to a report from the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, in the first 9 months of 2024, despite being greatly affected by storms, Quang Ninh still achieved positive economic results.

Processing and manufacturing industry continued to be the growth driver with an increase of 28.39%, while tourism, services and trade all showed signs of improvement.

Total tourist arrivals increased by 20% year-on-year, while total tourism revenue increased by 39%. Export turnover increased by 13.8%. Budget revenue reached 72% of the yearly plan, with many revenue items exceeding targets, especially revenue from import and export.

In addition, the province also focused on social issues, creating jobs for 23,500 workers, and social security spending increased by 38.4% over the same period.

The education sector has made important strides as Quang Ninh's average high school graduation exam score ranked 25th nationwide, up 11 places compared to last year.

However, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee also identified challenges, including the low disbursement rate of public investment capital and the slow progress of some key projects. The domestic budget revenue rate is expected to fall short of the target, making it difficult to complete financial targets in 2024.

The Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee has agreed on key solutions to restore production after the storm, such as providing policy support for people and businesses, accelerating site clearance and implementing key projects. At the same time, the province also requested relevant agencies to step up administrative reform and focus on supporting those severely affected by natural disasters.

The goal is to maintain economic growth of over 10%, budget revenue of no less than VND 55,600 billion, attract USD 3 billion in FDI capital and reach over 19 million tourists in 2024.
