This is the third kidney transplant in Quang Ninh province after the success of two kidney transplants taking place simultaneously at the General Hospital of Quang Ninh Province and Vietnam - Swedish Hospital Uong Bi at the evening of 8.4.2025, from the donated organ of a brain -dead person.
This kidney transplant was performed between two siblings, the recipient was a 35 -year -old male patient, with end -stage renal failure, and had to be treated with periodic dialysis method.
Facing the risk of complications, the quality of life is seriously reduced, patients and families have actively studied and voluntarily registered to participate in the kidney donation program at Vietnam - Swedish Hospital Uong Bi.

Nearly 50 doctors, nurses, technicians of the hospital under the professional support of experts from Viet Duc Friendship Hospital have deployed kidney and kidney transplant.
After more than 3 hours of surgery, the transplant was completed. Currently, the donor and the recipient are all awake and hemodynamic stable. The recipient had urine right after the graft.
Patients are continuing to monitor and care at the post -grafted resuscitation area.
The completion of the 2nd kidney transplant at the hospital is a clear testament to the stable professional competence, commitment and innovation efforts of the medical team and doctors of Vietnam - Swedish Hospital Uong Bi.
This is also a happy signal to open up hope for many end -stage renal failure patients in Quang Ninh and neighboring localities.
According to the plan, the hospital will continue to deploy the remaining kidney transplantation in the waiting list and step by step putting kidney techniques into regular implementation.
