At around 10:10 p.m. on November 15, Tran Island Border Guard Station (Co To district) discovered and arrested two double-hulled boats with license plates TB 901xx TS and TB 901xx, captained by Bui Van H (born in 1968, Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province) and Bui Van M (born in 1989, Tien Hai district, Thai Binh province).
These two vessels were illegally fishing with double trawl nets in the offshore area under the management of the Border Guard Station.
According to regulations, fishing by pair trawling is a violation of regulations on protecting aquatic resources.
Currently, Tran Island Border Guard Station is completing the dossier to handle the case according to the provisions of law.
Previously, on November 8, 2024, the Waterway Traffic Police Team of the Traffic and Order Police Team, Cam Pha City Police, while patrolling to protect aquatic resources, discovered 4 cases of possession of prohibited fishing gear, including 1.8m long steel clam rakes with rakes, used for illegal clam exploitation.
Investigation results show that these 4 cases violated the possession of fishing gear prohibited from exploitation according to Clause 3, Article 27, Decree 38/2024/ND-CP.
This is just one of more than 30 violations related to IUU fishing that Cam Pha City authorities have detected and handled since April 2024, with a total fine of more than 700 million VND.
