The current status of this route is a grade 4 mountainous road, with a roadbed width of 7.5m; road surface width of 6.5m.
To facilitate traffic connections between areas in Quang Ninh province as well as Lang Son province, Quang Ninh province invests in renovating and upgrading National Highway 4B from a grade 4 mountainous road to a grade 3 plain and hill road, with a design speed of 80km/h.
The total investment capital of the project is 1,804.24 billion VND, from the budget, of which about 380 billion VND is for compensation and site clearance.
