The National Assembly Standing Committee issued Resolution No. 1283 on the arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels for the 2023-2025 period of Ha Tinh province.
According to the Resolution, the entire natural area and population size of 11 communes of Thach Ha district, including: Dinh Ban, Tan Lam Huong, Thach Dai, Thach Hai, Thach Hoi, Thach Khe, Thach Lac, Thach Thang, Thach Tri, Thach Van and Tuong Son, will be merged into Ha Tinh city.
The entire natural area and population of Cam Vinh commune, Cam Binh commune of Cam Xuyen district and Ho Do commune (Loc Ha district) are also merged into Ha Tinh city.
In Ha Tinh city, merge the entire natural area and population of Nguyen Du ward and adjust part of the natural area and population of Tran Phu ward into Bac Ha ward.
Enter the entire natural area and population of Thach Linh ward into Tran Phu ward.
Establish Thach Hung ward from Thach Hung commune, Thach Trung ward from Thach Trung commune, Thach Ha ward from Thach Ha commune, Dong Mon ward from Dong Mon commune.
After the arrangement, Ha Tinh city has 27 communes and wards with a natural area of 220km2 and a population of 266,321 people.
Notably, with this arrangement, Ha Tinh city mainly expands its area to the East and has a number of coastal communes.
Also according to Resolution 1283 of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the entire natural area of 110.51 square kilometers and population of 96,331 people of 11 communes and towns of Loc Ha district (after "cutting" Ho Do commune to Ha Tinh city) into Thach Ha district.
After the arrangement, Thach Ha district has a natural area of 325.37 km2 and a population of 190,335 people; has 22 communes and towns.
In Huong Son district, establish Ham Truong commune on the basis of merging Son Ham commune with Son Truong commune; establish My Long commune on the basis of merging Son Long commune with Son Tra commune; establish Chau Binh commune on the basis of merging Son Chau commune with Son Binh commune.
In Can Loc district, Trung Loc commune is merged into Dong Loc town.
In Huong Khe district, merge the entire Phu Phong commune and part of Huong Xuan commune, part of Phu Gia commune into Huong Khe town.
In Ky Anh district, establish Ky Dong town on the basis of arranging the entire natural area and population of Ky Dong commune.
In Ky Anh town, establish Ky Nam ward from Ky Nam commune; Ky Ninh ward from Ky Ninh commune.
According to the Resolution of the National Assembly, after the reorganization and reduction of Loc Ha district, the People's Court of Loc Ha district and the People's Procuracy of Loc Ha district, Ha Tinh province, will be dissolved.
The People's Court and People's Procuracy of Thach Ha district are responsible for inheriting the duties and powers of the People's Court and People's Procuracy of Loc Ha district according to the provisions of law.
This Resolution takes effect from January 1, 2025. From the effective date of this Resolution, Ha Tinh province has 12 district-level administrative units, including 9 districts, 2 towns and 1 city; 209 commune-level administrative units, including 170 communes, 25 wards and 14 towns.
