Construction regardless of day or night, rain or flood
As of October 2024, Khanh Hoa province has basically completed the site clearance work for the main route of the Van Phong - Nha Trang component project under the North - South Eastern Expressway Construction Project, phase 2021 - 2025.
Regarding the relocation of technical infrastructure (relocation of 220kV power line) of the Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway project through Ninh Hoa town, Mr. Tran Hoa Nam - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee - inspected and requested Ninh Hoa Town People's Committee to urgently deploy the relocation of technical infrastructure to complete the handover of the site to the project investor.
Currently, Ninh Hoa town, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Transport and the leaders of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee are all members of the Working Group via Zalo group to jointly solve problems arising when organizing land clearance for expressways. The use of Zalo website by departments and branches of Khanh Hoa province will help shorten the time to resolve work and aim to create conditions for the expressway through Khanh Hoa province to finish ahead of schedule.
Not only do state management agencies shorten processing procedures through social networks, contractors are also urgently constructing expressways through Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen provinces.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dong - Manager of Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway Project under Son Hai Group - said that the contractor is currently focusing on completing the fence and soft guardrail system. Mr. Dong said that the Group has mobilized 300 construction workers, divided into 3 shifts and 4 teams to construct and set a target that the package will be basically completed by December 31, 2024.
Tunnel boring efforts to shorten progress
Meanwhile, at the Tuy An tunnel project (An Cu commune, Tuy An district, Phu Yen province), one of the most complicated items of the XL01 package, the Chi Thanh - Van Phong section of the North - South expressway. Hundreds of workers overcame difficulties and made efforts to ensure the tunnel was opened on December 31, 2024, thereby contributing to the project's completion date in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Tuy An tunnel project is 1,020m long, up to now, 944/1,020m (92.55%) have been constructed and drilled. To shorten the construction time in the last days of the year, hundreds of workers have been constructing important items of the project, despite the prolonged rainy weather.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy - Deputy General Director of Deo Ca Group - said that the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Expressway project is targeted to be completed 8 months ahead of schedule in the signed contract. Specific timelines for some parts of the work have been issued, specifically, by December 31, 2024, tunnel 1 and tunnel 2 will be completed; by April 30, 2025, tunnel 3 will be opened, aiming to complete the project by December 31, 2025.
According to the representative of Deo Ca Group, the construction of the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Expressway is currently being flexibly implemented according to the weather conditions. Quang Ngai is currently in the rainy season, so the XL02 construction site command board has directed to focus on completing tunnels 1 and 2; speeding up the construction progress of tunnel 3 and some bridges and culverts on the main route.
The XL01 package construction management board focuses on completing large bridges (30/77 bridges have girder installations and deck construction is underway) and grading crushed stone at locations where the roadbed has been completed. The entire construction site currently maintains jobs for about 4,000 workers and engineers with 50 construction teams, working in 3 shifts and 4 teams.
Present at the South Gate of Tuy An Tunnel (Phu Yen) these days are the images of hundreds of workers overcoming harsh weather conditions to construct important items. Mr. Pham Khac Huynh - Commander of Tuy An Tunnel - described that the air in the tunnel is stuffy and humid 24/7. Not to mention the surrounding dust and noise from the machines. However, 300 workers always take turns to stick to the construction site to carry out items, ensuring the progress of Tuy An Tunnel on schedule.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc (46 years old, from Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa) - a worker on the Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway project of Son Hai Group - said that currently the weather conditions at the construction site are changing erratically, yesterday was sunny and hot, now it is cloudy and the wind is strong and prolonged. To protect their health, but also not affect the overall progress of the expressway, Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc and the workers at the construction site take turns working and prepare additional uniforms suitable for different weather conditions.
