On December 7, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ham Liem commune - said that after receiving the notice of Song Quao lake increasing the overflow flow on the afternoon of December 3, people have proactively coordinated with the authorities in relocating and avoiding floods.
This is the result of drawing experience from the deep flooding in early November.

Ham Liem commune is the downstream area of Song Quao lake, heavily affected by the recent flood. According to statistics, 400 houses and 250 hectares of crops were flooded.
Previously, it was forecasted that the situation would be flooded, and from noon on December 3, Ham Liem commune had evacuated people from high-risk areas and put up warning ropes.

"Compared to the previous flood, people this time are more cooperative and less subjective, so relocation is less difficult, without having to force relocation. Knowing that flood discharge regulation has regulations, but the time is too urgent, sometimes 'they can't get by'. The locality took the initiative on December 3 but urgently increased the discharge flow on the night of December 3 and the morning of December 4" - Mr. Hung emphasized.
Citing this, Mr. Hung added that on the evening of December 3, there was a flood discharge announcement of 150m3/s, about 2 hours later it increased to 300m3/s. About 15 minutes later, I received a call reporting an increase in traffic to 350m3/s. Continue for the next half hour to 500m3/s.
Thanks to the proactiveness of the locality's previous plans, the damage to people and property has been minimized.

During the on-site inspection, visiting and encouraging the people of Ham Liem commune on the morning of December 7, the working group of the Provincial Party Committee led by Lam Dong Provincial Party Secretary Y Thanh Ha Nie K dam highly appreciated the proactiveness of the Ham Liem government and people in evacuating, providing relief to people and providing flood prevention.
Mr. Y Thanh Ha Nie K dam suggested that the commune continue to review the damage in each area, absolutely not let people lack food, clean water or safe housing.

At the meeting, the commune leaders recommended that the province support funding to repair damage, repair traffic routes and allocate resources for dredging rivers and streams - one of the reasons for the flow being obstructed during the recent flood.
On this occasion, the working group presented 2 tons of rice to support Ham Liem commune and presented 25 gifts (2 million VND/gift) to households that suffered heavy damage.

After that, the Provincial Party Secretary and the delegation inspected the scene in Hoi Nhon village, the deepest flooded area, on the evening of December 3. Here, a section of a residential road was dug up by floodwaters, at risk of landslides.
Mr. Y Thanh Ha Nie Kham encouraged people to try to overcome difficulties, affirming that the province will continue to accompany in the process of overcoming the consequences of the flood.
