The Gia Binh airport construction project phase 1 has been started.
To avoid wasting and saving time, effort and resources, it is necessary to plan to expand immediately to a level 4E international airport.
At the same time, research and invest in the construction of a road connecting Gia Binh airport with the capital Hanoi; build a modern, smart logistics area, combined with e-commerce.
All of this work must be implemented synchronously, promptly, with quality and efficiency, ensuring a bright, green, clean and beautiful environment; demonstrating the role, position, promoting the image of the country and the capacity of Vietnam, attracting and attracting investment and tourism.
"But special attention should be paid to relevant agencies and entities not to let negativity, corruption, or waste occur," the announcement emphasized.
Regarding some contents related to the project implementation, General Secretary To Lam agreed in principle (Notes No. 119-TB/VPTW dated January 20, 2025 of the Central Party Office).
The Prime Minister requested ministries, agencies and localities to urgently implement. In case a special mechanism is needed, it should be promptly reported to competent authorities for consideration and decision.
The Prime Minister agreed on the policy of studying the expansion of Gia Binh airport into a level 4E international airport; investing in the construction of a route connecting Gia Binh airport, Bac Ninh province with the capital Hanoi and building a logistics center.
Agencies that make plans, projects, appraise, review, calculate, and carefully evaluate the investment scale and total investment to ensure accuracy, savings, efficiency, and avoid negativity and waste.
Relevant ministries, agencies and localities actively coordinate closely to implement, speed up preparation, implementation and strive to complete the synchronization of international airports and connecting routes by 2026 at the latest.
The Prime Minister also agreed to the policy of adjusting the Bac Ninh Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 according to the shortened order and procedures, to adjust the Bac Ninh Urban Master Plan to 2045 to urgently implement the direction of the General Secretary.
Bac Ninh province organizes the preparation and adjustment of the planning in accordance with current law to implement quickly, ensuring the quality and progress of the project.
Gia Binh International Airport has a scale of level 4E, located in Bac Ninh province with an expected land area of about 363.5 hectares. By 2030, the designed capacity is expected to be about 1 million passengers/year and about 3 million passengers/year with a vision to 2050.
