In mid-July, according to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, the giant Canh Tang reservoir project in Yen Phu commune (Yen Phu commune, old Lac Son district, Hoa Binh) is gradually showing its shape.
The construction items are focused on by the unit to be completed in time for the inauguration ceremony on August 19.

The Canh Tang reservoir project has a total investment of nearly 4,000 billion VND, built in Lac Son and Yen Thuy districts (old Hoa Binh province), now in Phu Tho province. The project includes a main dam over 53m high, 850m long, an auxiliary dam and a water supply pipeline system nearly 30km long.
Canh Tang Lake is expected to provide a stable source of irrigation water for agricultural production, provide domestic water for people, and create conditions for aquaculture development and eco-tourism.
"We have been looking forward to this project for many years. The biggest wish is that after the lake is put into operation, people will be provided with enough water to irrigate their fields," said Mr. Bui Van Be - a resident of Yen Phu commune.

According to the 1st Irrigation Investment and Construction Management Board (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment), the project has so far handed over and put into use 8 resettlement points and 2 flood avoidance routes.
For site clearance - one of the key items - the counting teams have compiled data and sent it to localities to verify the origin of the land, as a basis for public listing and submitting for payment approval to the people.

Mr. Bui Thanh Tung - Chairman of Yen Phu Commune People's Committee - said: "Up to this point, the commune has basically completed the appraisal and approval of the site clearance plan.
The commune has paid the first installment to the people, the next installment will be made after verifying the origin of the land with the remaining households".

However, the verification process is still facing many difficulties. According to Mr. Hoang Dinh Trang - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Phu Tho province - the main reason is that many households do not have red books or have transferred land by handwritten documents for many years.

Another obstacle is that the People's Committee of Lac Son district (old) - the unit that was the investor of the site clearance joint venture - has now dissolved according to the arrangement of administrative units, the seal and legal status are no longer valid, causing delays in handling procedures.
Despite many problems, the construction progress and completion of items are still being accelerated by the units.

To ensure long-term livelihoods for people in the lake area, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the People's Committee of Phu Tho province have agreed to study and build anchorage for boats, contributing to ensuring safety and supporting economic development after the lake has water.
