On the morning of December 15, Mr. Pham Ngoc Huu - Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Thai Commune, Khanh Vinh District (Khanh Hoa) confirmed that National Highway 27C through Khanh Le Pass is currently cut off due to serious landslides.
Over the past few days, Khanh Hoa province has been experiencing prolonged heavy rains. Bad weather combined with complex terrain has caused landslides in many locations on the pass.
At some landslide locations, large amounts of soil, rocks, and fallen trees spilled onto the road. Many vehicles passing through this route were forced to turn around to ensure safety.
Currently, the authorities have identified three landslide locations on Khanh Le Pass - the section passing through Khanh Hoa province. These are at Km 54, Km 59 and Km 42+350.
To ensure safety for vehicles participating in traffic, authorities have blocked off some locations and set up protective ropes around the landslide area.
Authorities warn that Khanh Hoa will continue to experience heavy rains in the coming days. Drivers should consider choosing National Highway 27C to ensure safety of people and property.
