On the afternoon of December 2, Song Pha Pass (National Highway 27, through Lam Son Commune) continued to experience landslides after many hours of heavy rain. The local government has set up checkpoints and temporarily banned vehicles from passing to ensure the safety of the people.
Mr. Doan Van Hung - Secretary of Lam Son Commune Party Committee - said that rocks and soil from the positive slope suddenly overflowed onto the road, completely obstructing traffic through the pass.
As soon as the news was received, the commune's forces quickly arrived at the scene, erected warning signs, diverted traffic and deployed to clear the area.
According to records, heavy rain that lasted for a long time during the day caused many slope locations on the pass to continue to be leaking, causing instability, increasing the risk of landslides.
Song Pha Pass - also known as Ngoan Cach Pass - is the route connecting Da Lat with Phan Rang, famous for its winding, many steep slopes and high slopes.
This is an important traffic route but often has potential dangers during the rainy season.
In mid-November 2025, this area experienced serious landslides at many points, forcing authorities to temporarily close the road for handling.
Although it has been overcome, landslides continue to recur, causing many potential risks when traveling through the pass.
Currently, local forces continue to monitor the scene and coordinate with the transport sector to handle it, ensuring safe traffic as soon as possible.
