On December 7, the People's Committee of Phuoc Thang Ward (HCMC) said that it had recorded a landslide at a project in Rach Dua Ward and bordering Phuoc Thang Ward.
On December 5 and 6, the ward recorded a section of the breakwater of The Maris project (Rach Dua ward, Ho Chi Minh City) cast with concrete and cracked; and a section of the surrounding wall was also affected. The initial cause was that the investor of The Maris project said that due to the impact of the construction of the adjacent The Blanca City project, the seawater overflowed into erosion, creating frog jaw damage.
Previously, the investor of The Maris project had issued a document reporting to Phuoc Thang ward about the discovery of signs of the project being affected such as a light pole with eroded column base, deep eroded wall base, washed away sand revealing the embankment foundation..., many sections showed signs of collapse...
Phuoc Thang Ward has worked with the representatives of the investors of the two projects, requesting coordination to overcome the problem. However, by December 5, the situation became more serious, affecting the safety of The Maris project.
The leader of Phuoc Thang Ward People's Committee said that the ward has initially recorded the current situation as reported by the enterprise and continued to organize work to request the investors of the two projects to coordinate to overcome the situation.
In the recent past, Phuoc Thang ward has regularly coordinated with both units to find a reasonable solution, but both units have not yet agreed on a plan to handle the case.
Currently, Phuoc Thang ward is completing a report on the status of these two projects, submitting it to competent authorities (HCMC People's Committee, HCMC Department of Construction) for consideration, to have a plan to direct and resolve the case.
