An Giang - The riverbank landslide was about 100m long, eating about 25m deep into the shore, collapsing 2 houses and 1 warehouse containing construction tools and machinery.

On September 4, the People's Committee of My Hoa Hung commune (An Giang province) said that a landslide had just occurred in the commune on the road from Ut Na culvert to Dau Con market in group 5, My Thuan hamlet.

Accordingly, at around 1:00 a.m. on September 4, in My Thuan hamlet, My Hoa Hung commune, a landslide occurred along the river, about 100m long, eating about 25m deep into the shore, collapsing 2 houses and 1 warehouse containing construction tools and machinery, estimated at 200 million VND in damage.

The landslide section was identified as being in the area warned by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, located right in a curved section with a flow approaching the shore, water flowing rapidly, combined with a large embankment load (houses, ministries).... causing landslides and subsidence.

The People's Committee of My Hoa Hung commune has conducted a field survey of the landslide area that is at risk of directly affecting traffic routes, endangering vehicles when traveling through the landslide area and at risk of landslides.

Currently, local authorities are coordinating with functional forces to support people in relocating their assets, while visiting and encouraging affected households to stabilize their lives and move to relatives' houses to ensure safety. The Commune People's Committee, together with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, supported 2 households with the amount of 3 million VND/household and necessary necessities to ensure their lives.

Mobilize people around to cut down trees, clear bushes, move architectural objects to reduce weight and pull up boundary ropes, install fences, temporary signs, hang warning lights, etc. to ensure traffic safety.

The commune also requested provincial-level professional sectors to survey, evaluate, and consider proposals for the Provincial People's Committee to support the handling and repair of the above road section and support 2 households affected by landslides from the province's funding source.
