On the morning of November 2, Mr. Pham Van Hoa - Chairman of the People's Committee of Muong Long commune (a mountainous commune in the western part of Nghe An province) - said that heavy rain that has lasted for many days has caused landslides on Provincial Road 534 through Hoi Thang village.
The landslide section of about 15m long, which occurred on November 1, has been fixed. However, this morning, landslides continued at the old location, and the authorities are mobilizing leveling machinery to urgently clear the route" - Mr. Hoa said.
Due to the road being cut off, people have posted a notice on social media to warn vehicles not to move through this area.

Previously, on November 1, in Huoi Tu commune, National Highway 16 also suffered a landslide on the positive slope, a large amount of rock and soil from the mountainside overflowed, burying the road surface, completely cutting off the section through Huoi Thang - Huoi Don village. The authorities have put up warning signs, assigned forces to be on duty 24/7, and mobilized leveling machinery to soon reopen the route.
In Binh Chuan commune, heavy rain on the night of October 30 and early morning of October 31 caused landslides on National Highway 48C, the Pu Huot slope - bordering Nga My and Binh Chuan communes. Dozens of cubic meters of soil, rocks, and forest trees overflowed onto the road, causing traffic congestion for many hours. At noon of the same day, the route was temporarily opened, but on the morning of November 1, the landslide occurred with a larger volume.
In Mon Son commune, the rising water level of the Giang River caused the overflow bridge to Cua Rao village to be deeply flooded, making it impossible for people and vehicles to pass. Some roads from Khe Khang Border Control Station to Bung village were also eroded with about 60m3 of rock and soil.
In Kim Bang commune, the bridges were flooded about 50cm deep, making it difficult to travel. Thanh Thuy Border Guard Station and local authorities have put up warning signs and put up ropes in dangerous areas.
