Nghe An – After lunch, more than 40 workers at a garment factory in WHA Industrial Park, Nghi Loc district showed symptoms of poisoning and had to be hospitalized.

On the afternoon of December 6, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of Nghi Loc District People's Committee, Nghe An Province, said that a suspected food poisoning incident had just occurred at Premium Fashion Company Limited - located in WHA Industrial Zone 1 - Nghe An, Nghi Long Commune.

"At noon, the workers ate rice consisting of sea fish, melons, and meat. About an hour after eating, many workers suddenly showed symptoms of poisoning and were taken to hospitals for emergency treatment," said the leader of Nghi Loc District People's Committee.

"According to initial inspections at the district hospital, 42 people are being treated there; other workers were taken to hospitals in Vinh city. It is currently unclear how many workers were poisoned," the leader of Nghi Loc district People's Committee added.

Meanwhile, a representative of Nghe An General Hospital 115 said that the hospital is treating a number of workers suspected of poisoning there.

The suspected food poisoning case is being investigated by authorities of Nghi Loc district and Nghe An province.
