On September 25, the People's Council of Thach Ha district (Ha Tinh), 20th term, 2021-2026 term, held the 15th session (special session) to approve the policy of merging 11 communes of Thach Ha district into Ha Tinh city and merging 11 communes and towns of Loc Ha district into Thach Ha district.
At the meeting, the People's Council of Thach Ha district considered and approved the policy of merging the entire natural area and population of 11 commune-level administrative units including: Thach Dai, Tan Lam Huong, Tuong Son, Thach Thang, Thach Van, Thach Hoi, Thach Tri, Thach Lac, Thach Khe, Thach Hai and Dinh Ban commune of Thach Ha district into Ha Tinh city;
Merge the entire natural area and population of 11 commune-level administrative units of Loc Ha district into Thach Ha district, including: Thach Kim, Thach Chau, Thach My, Mai Phu, Ich Hau, Phu Luu, Binh An, Tan Loc, Hong Loc, Thinh Loc, Loc Ha town.
According to the announcement at the meeting, 3 days ago, Thach Ha district also organized to collect voters' opinions in 11 communes merging into Ha Tinh city with 91 polling stations at the cultural houses of the villages. As a result, 53,180 voters agreed with the plan to rearrange the province's administrative units, reaching a rate of 95.54%.
At the meeting, after discussion, 100% of the delegates of the People's Council of Thach Ha district voted in agreement with the contents of the report and approved the draft Resolution on approving the policy of merging the entire natural area and population of 11 communes of Thach Ha district into Ha Tinh city and 11 communes and towns of Loc Ha district into Thach Ha district.
According to the Project on rearranging administrative units at district and commune levels in the period of 2023 - 2025 of Ha Tinh province, the entire natural area and population of Ho Do commune (Loc Ha district) will be merged into Ha Tinh city.
The entire natural area and population of the remaining 11 localities of Loc Ha including: Loc Ha town, Thach Kim, Thach Chau, Thach My, Mai Phu, Thinh Loc, Binh An, Tan Loc, Hong Loc, Phu Luu, Ich Hau will be merged into Thach Ha district.
Accordingly, Loc Ha district will be removed from the district-level administrative unit in Ha Tinh.
After Loc Ha district is no longer there, Ha Tinh province will have 12 district-level administrative units including: Ha Tinh city, Hong Linh town, Ky Anh town and the districts: Ky Anh, Cam Xuyen, Thach Ha, Nghi Xuan, Duc Tho, Can Loc, Vu Quang, Huong Son, Huong Khe.
