On November 29, the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Health said it had received a report from a group of people, including a mother and a baby born a few months ago, who came to Health Station 1 (Ngoc Lang village, Tuy Hoa ward) to take shelter from floods but were refused.
As soon as the information was received, Director of the Dak Lak nay Provincial Department of Health Phi La directed relevant units to urgently verify and clarify the incident; at the same time, visit and promptly support the mother and baby, ensure health safety and access to health services for the people.
Mr. Nay Phi La expressed regret that the unfortunate incident occurred in the context of the entire health sector and local authorities making efforts to overcome the consequences of storms and floods, protecting public health.
According to the Director of the Department of Health, to ensure the rights of affected families, the health sector will meet directly to apologize, check the health of mother and baby, and encourage the spirit of family members.
Due to the huge damage after storms and floods, the health sector is focusing on environmental treatment, disease prevention, admission and treatment for people.
Tuy Hoa Ward Medical Center - the unit managing Health Station 1 needs to quickly clean up the facility, restore medical examination and treatment activities and participate in disease prevention after floods. When the situation is stable, the department will review and comprehensively evaluate to come up with a suitable handling direction," said Mr. Nay Phi La.
