Hanoi - A series of accidents occurred at the foot of Thang Long Bridge (near the Ring Road 3 intersection) heading towards the inner city.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened at around 9am this morning (October 5), many people were injured.

According to Lao Dong newspaper reporters at the scene, there were 5 cars stuck together, including 1 tractor-trailer, 2 trucks and 2 cars.

Among them, there was a 4-seat car lying between the tractor and the truck, crushed and deformed.

Sharing with reporters, Mr. N.V.K (Vinh Phuc province) - the driver of the car at the end - said that he was still shocked when he witnessed the crumpled car in front.

"When I saw the car in front stop suddenly, I tried to brake quickly but still lightly collided with the back of the truck in front. After getting out of the car, knowing that a car was seriously damaged, we immediately ran over, together with the nearby motorbike taxi drivers, to pry open the door to get the people out. Some people at the nearby construction site brought out crowbars to help.

At that time, there were 4 people in the car, including an elderly person. Everyone was shocked and panicked. From my observation, all 4 people only had minor injuries, one person was bleeding from the head, then people helped take the victim to the emergency room," Mr. K shared.

Mr. N.T.A (Bac Tu Liem, Hanoi) said that at that time, he was sitting drinking water with friends nearby. After hearing a loud noise, he knew there was an accident so he ran out to see.

"We ran up and heard panicked cries for help from the people inside the 4-seater car. Then we all ran to get a crowbar and pry open the door. Luckily, the people inside the car only suffered minor injuries," said Mr. N.T.A.

According to witnesses, the collision occurred between 6 vehicles, including 1 container truck that left the scene.

At 10am, the scene was still intact for investigation. Thang Long Bridge towards the city centre was congested, with police on duty to direct traffic.
