Multiple accidents in Ho Chi Minh City leave 2 dead

HCMC - A car running on Nguyen Van Linh Street (Binh Chanh District) suddenly hit the back of a truck, then the truck rushed forward and hit two other cars, creating a chain of accidents.

As of 8:00 a.m. on September 23, Binh Chanh District Police were still coordinating with relevant units to block off the scene and investigate the cause of the multiple-vehicle accident that occurred on Nguyen Van Linh Street, An Phu Tay Commune, Binh Chanh District. The accident resulted in 2 deaths.

According to initial information, at around 6:45 a.m. the same day, a car driven by a man carrying a woman was traveling on Nguyen Van Linh Street, from District 7 to Binh Chanh District. When it reached a section about 500m from National Highway 1 in An Phu Tay Commune, Binh Chanh District, the car hit the back of a truck running in front.

The strong impact caused the truck to rush forward, hitting a 7-seater and a 17-seater car, creating a chain of accidents. At the scene, the 4-seater car was crushed, severely damaged, with many pieces of debris scattered everywhere. Two people in the car died. The remaining cars were slightly damaged.

The impact of the accident caused serious traffic congestion on Nguyen Van Linh Street, from District 7 to Binh Chanh District.

Currently, authorities are blocking off, examining the scene, and investigating the cause.
