On December 31, Mr. Le Nhu Nhat - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Kon Tum province said that the unit is coordinating with provincial authorities to go to the scene of Dak Mi 1 hydropower plant in Dak Glei district to grasp the situation of the labor accident.
Initial information, at around 3am the same day, 5 workers were constructing the spillway pouring concrete. Unfortunately, all 5 people had an accident and fell into a deep water hole.
The victims were identified as Ha Van Son (30 years old), Kha Van Khay (26 years old), Ngan Van Long (32 years old) and Luong Van Hung (20 years old), all from Nghe An. The remaining victim was A Tuat (24 years old, residing in Dak Lay village, Dak Choong commune, Dak Glei district).
Upon receiving the news, the Dak Mi 1 Hydropower Project Management Board mobilized workers and forces to rescue and search for victims but encountered difficulties.

Dak Mi 1 Hydropower Plant has a capacity of 84MW in Dak Choong Commune, Dak Glei District, Kon Tum Province. The hydropower plant has an investment capital of thousands of billions of VND but has been over budget and behind schedule.
