On November 7, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center said that they had issued a document to fine bus driver N.T.B (route 69) for running a red light in District 1, which was previously reported by residents. The penalty is a 24-month suspension of operations for this driver.
At the same time, the center also fined Ho Chi Minh City Transport Joint Stock Company 1 million VND for violations related to the provision of signed bus transport services. The fine amount will be deducted from the subsidy that the state budget provides to the transport unit when settling with the center.
Previously, on November 5, a clip was circulated on social media recording a bus speeding and running a red light at a busy intersection.

Many passersby were outraged, and a car camera recorded the image of the bus driver violating the law at around 6:50 a.m. on November 5, on Cach Mang Thang Tam Street, Pham Ngu Lao Ward, District 1. According to the clip, the bus driver was driving on Cach Mang Thang Tam Street, from Dien Bien Phu Street to the Phu Dong roundabout.
When reaching the intersection of Cach Mang Thang Tam and Bui Thi Xuan, the red light had more than 20 seconds left, however the bus driver did not stop but ran the red light and sped through the busy intersection.
Immediately afterwards, the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police Department (PC08) to extract the camera and invite the driver to work according to regulations.
