On July 20, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Quang Tri province said that a fishing boat had just sunk in the sea about 35 nautical miles southeast of Ron Gate.
Previously, at 8:30 a.m. on July 19, the fishing boat with registration number QB-33841-TS captained by Mr. Pham Van Tri (born in 1970, residing in Hai Dong village, Phu Trach commune, Quang Tri province) and 6 crew members were fishing at sea when they suddenly encountered big waves and strong winds, causing the boat to sink at the coordinates 17°5300N - 107°0400E.

The authorities are continuing to coordinate to verify the cause of the incident, while supporting the fishermen to overcome the consequences.

In particular, the People's Committees of coastal communes and Con Co special zone are required to notify owners of vehicles and captains of ships operating at sea of the direction of movement and developments of the storm to proactively prevent it.
