Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Khoi - Head of Thien Cam Border Guard Station (Ha Tinh Border Guard) - said that after 5 hours of struggling with big waves, the rescue force had brought all 4 crew members and 30 tourists to shore safely.
Previously, at around 7:20 p.m. on July 19, in the sea area of Thien Cam commune (Ha Tinh province), thunderstorms and strong winds suddenly rose, causing the tourist boat Nguyen Ngoc, owned by Nguyen Trong Hoang, to sink in the Boc island area, about 0.5 nautical miles from Thien Cam coast.
At the time of the sinking, there were 4 crew members and 30 tourists on board fishing.
Upon receiving the news, Thien Cam Border Guard Station deployed forces to coordinate with the Thien Cam commune government to mobilize heavy-duty ships operating nearby to approach and rescue.

When they reached the scene of the sunken tourist boat, the passengers on this boat all jumped into the sea.
Rescue forces quickly approached and took the tourists and crew to take shelter on Boc Island. At around 00:30 on July 20, when the thunderstorms stopped, the tourists were brought safely to shore.
On the evening of July 19, in Cam Trung commune (Ha Tinh province), fisherman Tran Dai Viet's fishing boat was also sunk by waves while entering the channel. On board, 3 crew members were also rescued by the authorities and brought to shore safely.
