In the middle of April 4, 2025, Lao Dong was present in Suoi Hoa commune, Tan Lac district - a place in the area of Hoa Binh hydroelectric lake. As noted, the water level above the lake bed was lower than the time when the hydroelectricity discharged flood (July, August, September 2024).
Launched water makes people's lives in Hoa Binh lake area face many difficulties. This season, although no longer worried about running floods, running storms, but the worries of livelihood are always permanent.

Mr. Dinh Xuan Hao (53 years old, living in Ngoi Hoa port area) said that the water level of Hoa Binh lake is now 20m higher than the time of flood discharge. The households working in the river faced many difficulties in moving due to mud, cloudy water, and dense alluvium.
“Water is low, walking hard. This season, it will be sudden rain, the fish in the cage is prone to mud and mud.
Food and fish consumption must also adjust the schedule because small boats are difficult to access the farming area when the water is deep. Many days, small boats have to push hundreds of meters to reach the deep water area, bringing food to the cage so it also has to give up, ”Mr. Hao shared.

Although farming and fishing encountered many obstacles due to the low water level, the boats and resort services on the lake were still maintained. Some ship owners flexibly adjust the time, choose the right welcome wharf to adapt to the actual situation.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Vui (40 years old - the owner of a tourist boat in Suoi Hoa commune, Tan Lac district) shared: "This year the water level is much lower than the same period in 2024, many sections only reveal mud and rocks, boats that are difficult to move, only anchoring on the spot".
According to Ms. Vui, the lake surface is low, causing waterway transportation not to access safely. Some routes carrying tourists into the lake such as Ba Khan, Flower Nibs, ... also adjusted or removed the trip due to the shallow water level, not guaranteeing the journey safety.

Similarly, Mr. Tran Van Hau (34 years old - a tourist boat owner at Ngoi Hoa port), said that the activities remain regularly, but the largest number of tourists often fall on the weekend.
"This port is quite new, so not many tourists, most of the vehicles here still mainly serve the transportation of motorbikes and goods across the river. Each season of water is worried, greatly affecting the travel and transportation," Mr. Hau said.
Mr. Dinh Son Tung - Secretary of the Party Committee of Suoi Hoa commune, Tan Lac district said that the lake's water level has now decreased by nearly 20m compared to the time when the hydroelectricity discharged floods. However, up to this point, people's lives in the area have not been affected much. It is expected that from May to June, when the water continues to withdraw deeply, the more obvious impacts begin to appear.
"Currently, the water level is down for a long time, so until this time has no great effect, people still proactively respond," Mr. Tung informed.
