According to the reporter's records, on the days before Lunar New Year 2025, some main roads such as Hoang Van Thu, Chi Lang... have removed the median strip and widened the roadway.
Some road sections have been completed, creating spacious, convenient spaces for people's living and business activities.
Joy and excitement are the common feelings of many people living on these roads, because they have suffered from traffic jams and collisions for many years.
Mr. Dinh Ngoc Ho (75 years old, living on Chi Lang street) shared with excitement: “People are very happy and supportive when the road is renovated, traffic becomes more convenient. Moving in areas where the median strip has been removed has become safer and easier.”
According to Mr. Ho, during rush hour, Chi Lang Street is often congested, especially at intersections or U-turns. After this road was expanded, traffic has become smoother, hopefully solving the traffic congestion problem in the long term.
Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Quy Suu (53 years old, living on Hoang Van Thu street) also felt happy, although this street is not yet completed, currently the construction unit is resurfacing the road.
“Hoang Van Thu Street is an area with many schools, so during rush hour, traffic is very crowded, easily congested and dangerous. After removing the median strip, the traffic lanes are more open, people have more space to move, and we hope to limit congestion in the future,” said Mr. Suu.
Mr. Dang Dinh Son - Director of the Hoa Binh City Construction Investment Project Management Board said: "The City People's Committee is investing in nearly 10 projects to renovate and beautify streets with a total capital of nearly 250 billion VND. The items include upgrading roadways, re-paving sidewalks, improving lighting and drainage systems. The project also aims to upgrade the urban area so that Hoa Binh City can meet the criteria of a type II urban area by 2025."
According to Mr. Son, the contractors are committed to ensuring progress and quality, with the goal of putting the project into use before Tet.
The expansion of roads not only contributes to improving urban traffic infrastructure, meeting people's travel needs, but also promotes socio-economic development, while improving the quality of life and living environment in Hoa Binh City.
