On the afternoon of March 18, present at Go 1 area, Minh Tan commune, a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper noted that the cultural house project was built on a pond in the middle of a residential area. Currently, the demolition of this cultural house is almost completed, the scene is littered with bricks, concrete, steel...

Reporters wondered about the reason why the cultural house under construction sank and cracked and had to be demolished, an unnamed resident shared: "When the stake was forced to not be there, the cultural house cracked like boiled cassava, the construction side had to rebuild it for safety".

Explaining more clearly, another resident expressed his opinion: "In my opinion, it is at the design survey stage. At first, the depot was designed to be about 8.2m deep, but the process of making people supervise and supervise was not enough, so they proposed to force the depots to be deeper. After that, the commune agreed to force the deposit to be 1m deeper. However, after that, the cultural house still cracked and finally had to be demolished".
This person shared that some spacious 2-storey houses of people around this area have had to be forced to deposit up to 13m deep. For a level 4 cultural house like above, to be sure, it is necessary to deposit about 11m deep.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Duc - Head of Go 1 residential area - recounted that according to the design, the stakes were pressed 8.25m deep, some locations were pressed 9m deep by the contractor. On December 19, 2024, the residential area discovered cracked walls of the cultural house and reported to the People's Committee of the commune. On December 21, 2024, officials at all levels came to inspect the incident. After that, the contractor pressed more piles to fix them, with piles 11m and 12m deep.
"11m, 12m is forcing the deposit to break (to the point of being hard geologically). Despite efforts to fix it, as of February 9, 2025, the wall of the cultural house continued to crack. On March 13, the contractor reported to the residential area and the People's Committee of the commune to supervise the demolition of the cultural house. While demolition was underway, some residents recorded videos and posted them online" - Mr. Duc informed.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Nguyen Hong Son - Chairman of Minh Tan Commune People's Committee (project investor) - said: "The design is 9m, the weight of the deposit is 10m, because the locality does not have enough resources for bored and inspected, but only relyes on theory and design. The contractor did the right thing, not the wrong thing".
Previously, the image of an excavator destroying the Go 1 cultural house recorded by residents and shared on Facebook caused a stir, many comments expressed waste and regret when the project had to "break down and rebuild".
According to the reporter's investigation, Thanh Binh Consulting and Construction One Member Co., Ltd. is the winning enterprise in the bidding package for the construction of the Go 1 cultural house project, Minh Tan commune with a price of 706,430,000 VND under the form of a shortened bidding appointment (from mid-2024).
