The road took forever to complete
In 2016, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province approved the investment policy of Tran Nguyen Han street project phase 2 in Dong Ha city, and in April 2022 the project officially started construction. This road has a total length of just over 1.65km with a 25.5m wide roadbed and 10.5m wide road surface. The project investor is Dong Ha City People's Committee.
However, up to this point, only about 1km of the road surface has been paved with asphalt; Many sections of ground are still in disarray; 1 large box culvert has not been completed, many large manholes have not been completed...
People living along Tran Nguyen Han street said the construction project was slow because there were few workers and machinery. The prolonged construction of the road has significantly affected people's lives.
According to Dong Ha City People's Committee, the main reason why the above project is behind schedule is because of site clearance work . This project has 145 affected cases. Up to now, compensation and support plans for 113 cases have been approved. Currently, Dong Ha City Land Fund Development Center is coordinating with authorities to complete the disclosure of compensation and support plans and submit them for approval according to regulations.
In addition to the Tran Nguyen Han street project, the construction process of the extended Nguyen Trai street in Dong Ha city is very busy.
This project has had its economic and technical report approved by the People's Committee of Quang Tri province since the beginning of 2011 with a total investment of over 7.6 billion VND, with targeted support from the central budget.
However, after that, the central government did not allocate capital, so by the end of 2020, Dong Ha City People's Committee approved a feasibility study report on investment in the construction of the extended Nguyen Trai street project for investment implementation during the period. 2021 - 2023.
By April 2022, the project was approved to adjust the feasibility study report, the total project investment was adjusted to 44 billion VND, of which site clearance costs were over 35.46 billion VND. But up to now, the road is still unfinished, construction has stopped and it is unknown when it will be completed.
The project has not been completed and its capital has been cut off
In Dong Ha city, there are also some roads that encounter some problems, leading to capital cuts, and it is unclear when they will be resolved.
For example, the Ba Trieu Street project (Dong Ha city) has many sections that have had the site cleared, but the contractor has not yet constructed it, affecting people's travel.
According to the People's Committee of Dong Ha city, for areas that will only be handed over at the end of 2023, due to the weather during the rainy season, the construction of earthworks will not be carried out, so the road and asphalt pavement will not be completed in time to complete the handover. put into use before the end of the project December 31, 2023.
Currently, the urban project along the Mekong sub-region corridor in Quang Tri province (GMS) has ended, the GMS Project Management Board has directed the contractor to level the old road surface to serve people's travel. The Construction Investment Project Management Board of Quang Tri province is completing handover procedures to Dong Ha City People's Committee to propose a new project to continue site clearance and complete construction of the road.
Also included in the GMS Project, Hoang Dieu Street passing through 2 wards Dong Thanh and Dong Giang (Dong Ha city) has a length of 4.7km, although it has been in use for a long time, there are still bottlenecks that have not been removed. Currently, the GMS project has ended, meaning that the bottleneck on the 2-lane road will not be clear when it will be removed.
