On July 18, the Steering Committee for Animal Disease Prevention and Control of Tuyen Hoa commune (Quang Tri province) said that it had just held a conference to deploy urgent solutions to respond to the complicated developments of African swine fever in Tan Tien, Vinh Xuan, Tien Mai, Son Thuy and Thanh Truc villages.
Immediately after the conference, the commune established 2 checkpoints for disease control, one at provincial road 559B, the area bordering Tay Gianh commune (Quang Tri province); the other at the intersection of road 559B intersecting with Chau Hoa - Cao Quang route. The checkpoints are responsible for controlling animal transportation, strictly handling slaughter and trading in pigs of unknown origin.
The People's Committee of the commune also requires livestock farming households not to hide epidemics, not to arbitrarily transport or slaughter pigs without the opinion of specialized agencies. Inspection and supervision work in high-risk areas has been strengthened, and veterinary forces have been mobilized to support.
Tuyen Hoa commune authorities called on people to proactively declare, coordinate in disinfecting barns, raise vigilance, prevent the epidemic from spreading widely.
