Accordingly, on the day of the incident, the security guard opened the water tank room to pump water from the well into the filter to treat water contaminated with alum to ensure the school's teachers and students could use it.
When the water pumping was not finished and the security guard had not yet locked the door of the water tank, child D went in and fell into the tank, drowning and dying.
Also according to the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Cam Xuyen district, baby D is a student of class 4A, managed by teachers Pham Thi Thuy and Nguyen Thi Hao. This class has 25 children, of which baby D is slow to speak, slow to think and has hyperactivity. When he arrived at school, during school hours, D often ran out of class.
extracted from the school's camera shows that at around 8:00 a.m. on April 25, baby D ran out of the classroom. At this time, Ms. Pham Thi Thuy stayed to manage the class, while Ms. Nguyen Thi Hao ran after D to the schoolyard to look after her.
D ran away quickly, Miss Hao chased after him many times to look after him. After that, D played in the schoolyard, Ms. Hao stood next to watch. However, a few minutes later, Ms. Hao went into the toilet and returned and did not see D anywhere else, so she and the school searched and reported it to the commune police.
At around 9am, the Commune Police entered Cam Trung Kindergarten to coordinate the search for the child.
When entering the school, did the police ask the school teachers with any water tank? At that time, the girls remembered that behind the school had a water tank. Police quickly went to the tank area when D -discovered D -tank died.
Regarding why when the teacher discovered D running to the schoolyard and did not take him to class, the Head of the Department of Education and Training of Cam Xuyen district said that D was hyperactive so he often ran out of class. If he locked the door and left D in class, he would break up his friend and affect the other students.
The Department of Education and Training of Cam Xuyen district has repeatedly proposed to the Department of Education and Training to open a specialized center for children with diseases such as hyperlipidemia, but there is currently no basis for that.
"If I don't admit my sick child to school, it will be considered a distinction, but if I admit them, it will affect the other children and they will have a hard time," said the Head of the Department of Education and Training of Cam Xuyen district.
After the incident, the Department of Education and Training and teachers of the school visited, expressed condolences, and supported the family in arranging the funeral for D.
According to regulations, on April 26, the school held a make-up class for the April 30 - May 1 holiday, but due to the incident with D, the school let the students take a day off to handle related work.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tien - Chairman of Cam Trung Commune People's Committee - said that after the incident of P.B.D (5 years old) dying at Cam Trung Kindergarten on the morning of April 25, Cam Trung Commune authorities came to encourage, visit, express condolences and support the family with 10 million VND to arrange the funeral and burial.
