The Dong Da Lake renovation project (also known as Hoang Cau Lake) is constructed by Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation (VINACONEX), implemented in Dong Da district with a total investment of nearly 300 billion VND, expected to be completed in 2026.
The main goal of the project is to upgrade technical infrastructure, improve urban landscape and meet the living and entertainment needs of the people.
According to the reporter's records on April 16, at the Dong Da lake construction site, many items have clearly shown their shape.
In particular, items such as upgrading sidewalks, replacing railings, planting new trees and installing lighting systems are being urgently completed.
Notably, the stage and grandstand floating on the lake have been basically completed, creating a new landscape highlight for the area.
According to observations, the walking path along the lake is paved with stone, designed with soft iron railings around the lake, while the area near the water edge uses high-strength glass combined with a stainless steel frame, increasing aesthetics and modernity.
Workers are currently paving the walking path around the lake. According to Dong Da District People's Committee, to serve the construction, the contractor has temporarily filled about 6,500m2 of the water surface to build a material storage yard and a floating stage.
Dong Da District People's Committee said this is a temporary construction organization measure and committed to returning the water surface to its original state after the project is completed. This temporary filling does not affect the water regulation function of the lake.
Mr. Tran Van Bai, in charge of the project, informed: "The remaining items around the lake are being constructed continuously, striving to complete ahead of schedule. The area adjacent to Hoang Cau street is expected to be completed in May 2025".
Dong Da District People's Committee emphasized that the renovation of the lake aims to create a space for community activities, sports, improve the quality of life and beautify the urban appearance. When completed, Dong Da Lake will be an attractive destination for people and tourists.
The project is currently being accelerated to meet the schedule, ensure safety, quality and maintain the function of regulating water, with the expectation of bringing a green, modern living space to the capital.
