The Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway project through the old Binh Duong province is 46km long. The land area recovered for the project is 344 hectares, affecting 1,615 households, individuals and organizations. It is expected that 252 cases will be resettled.
The site clearance project passes through 10 communes and wards, including: Tan Khanh, Tan Hiep, Vinh Tan, Binh Duong, Binh Co, Phuoc Hoa, An Long, Chanh Phu Hoa ward and Bau Bang commune.
Up to now, the units have completed the announcement of land recovery and measurement and appraisal of the drawings. Complete the approval of specific land prices and are making efforts to complete the inventory.
Notably, by the end of November 2025, the competent authority had approved the plan and disbursed compensation, support, and resettlement to over 1,000 cases with an amount of VND 3,800 billion. Individuals and organizations have handed over 153 hectares of land.
Currently, the Land Fund Development Centers are coordinating with 9 communes and wards to continue to mobilize people to agree to receive compensation and hand over the site.
Regarding the project construction, according to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the project has been started since the beginning of 2025. According to records, at the starting point intersecting with DT 746 road in Tan Hiep ward, construction has not yet been completed. This section, the project runs along Suoi Cai project for about 7km, mainly passing through the people's agricultural land. Here, the handover site is not large and not synchronous, so construction cannot be carried out yet.
Notably, the about 10km section passing through rubber farms (in Phu Giao district, the old Binh Duong province), the handover site is quite complete. In particular, an organization has proactively handed over 80 hectares of land to build a highway.
According to records, rubber trees have been cut down to make way for the expressway construction. The contractor is constructing the roadbed at the intersection between the expressway and the Bac Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang dynamic road. The expressway surface and parallel roads on both sides are also under construction. Contractors are focusing on machinery and human resources to make road surfaces and pour rocks...
It is known that the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway project has a total length of about 52.159km. Of which, the section passing through the old Binh Duong province is nearly 46km long with a total investment of about VND 17,400 billion. The project is designed with a scale of 4 complete lanes, a road surface width of 25.5m, and a design speed of 100 km/h. The route includes 4 interconnecting intersections, 21 expressway bridges, 5 direct overpasses and 14 underpasses for people.
