Promote conference and seminar tourism
On November 23, speaking with reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, Vice Chairman of Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Tan said that the locality is implementing many plans to promote and boost tourism activities at the end of the year, especially during the low tourist season.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Binh province informed that the locality is currently in the low season for tourism, so the province is ready to welcome units and delegates to hold conferences and seminars at the Central region and national levels.
This is a type of conference and seminar tourism, whereby each program can welcome hundreds of delegates. Most recently, in November, the People's Committee of Quang Binh province and the Ministry of Science and Technology organized a conference on science and technology for the North Central and Central Coast regions in 2024.
At the end of November, the province will continue to be chosen as the venue for the Scientific Conference on Major General Hoang Sam with about 200 delegates from many provinces, cities, central and local levels attending.
In December, Hoa Sen Group and HTV7 organized the program Vietnamese Family Warmth. Accordingly, nearly 1,000 partner businesses and agents of the program were also present in Quang Binh and held a number of accompanying events. This was an opportunity for the province's hotel and restaurant system to "bustle" again after several months of closure due to floods.
This is one of the opportunities for the province to strongly develop conference and seminar tourism, thereby combining connection and promoting the strengths of the locality to the region. The province focuses on promoting development from November to February of the solar calendar.
This year, in March and April 2024, Quang Binh held a Marathon and a National Traditional Race, thereby helping the province welcome visitors to experience many services and tourism.
Two fireworks displays are expected to welcome the new year.
“The province always encourages and facilitates the development of conference tourism and event organization during the low tourist season and throughout the year. We will discuss with the Department of Culture and Sports to try to “pull” as many sports tournaments to Quang Binh as possible. In addition, the province will also ensure favorable conditions and facilities for the best organization,” said Mr. Tan.
The province also organized a number of events to welcome the New Year and Lunar New Year to help people have a joyful atmosphere to celebrate Tet.
It is expected that two fireworks display points combined with the countdown program will take place at the center of Phong Nha town (Bo Trach district) and Bao Ninh 1 Urban Area (Regal Legend) in Bao Ninh commune (Dong Hoi city) from 8:00 p.m. on December 31, 2024 to 2:00 a.m. on January 1, 2025.
According to the People's Committee of Quang Binh province, in the first 10 months of the year, the total number of tourists in the province is estimated at more than 4.54 million, up 15.6% over the same period last year. It is estimated that in 2024, the province will welcome 5.2 million visitors, up 15.3% over 2023, reaching 104% of the annual plan.
