The victims were B.G.Ph. and N.T.T., both 7th grade students at Que Chau Secondary School, Que Son District, Quang Nam Province.
On the afternoon of November 16, the two victims and a group of classmates went swimming in the river at Da Bang lagoon, An Thanh village, Que Chau commune.
While bathing, unfortunately 3 students in the group drowned. The group of friends who went with them saved 1 student and brought him to shore safely, but 2 students went missing.
By the afternoon of November 17, the rescue team had recovered the bodies of the remaining two students and handed them over to their families for funeral arrangements, said the leader of Que Chau commune.
