Vo Van Kiet Street extended
The Vo Van Kiet road project (Eastern - Western Expressway) extension is being completed by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction with a pre-feasibility study report, expected to be implemented in the 2026-2030 period.
The route is about 14.6 km long, starting from the National Highway 1 overpass (Binh Chanh district) to the border of Long An province, coinciding with the starting point of route DT.823D.

The project is designed according to urban main axis standards, with a speed of 80 km/h for motor vehicles and 60 km/h for mixed lanes. The total road surface is about 60 m.
On the route, many river-crossing bridges will be built such as: Cai Trung, Hung Nhon, Lang Le Bau Co, Canal A and An Ha - Xang An Ha, along with the intersection in sync with Ring Road 3 to increase inter-regional connectivity.
The total preliminary investment capital is nearly VND 19,400 billion, of which the cost of site clearance accounts for more than VND 12,800 billion.
The extended Vo Van Kiet route will help reduce traffic congestion in Binh Chanh (HCMC) and Duc Hoa (Long An), directly connecting the Duc Hoa dynamic axis, shortening the time to the center of HCMC and improving the efficiency of freight transportation to major ports.
National Highway 50B
National Highway 50B is a completely new route planned to enhance the connection between Ho Chi Minh City and the two Western provinces of Long An and Tien Giang.
The entire route is about 55 km long, of which the section passing through Ho Chi Minh City is 5.8 km long, starting from Pham Hung Street, through Binh Chanh and Nha Be districts.
The project has a scale of 6 lanes, a cross-section of 40 m, and a total preliminary investment of nearly 5,300 billion VND.

The route has been included in the Ho Chi Minh City Master Plan adjustment project to 2040, with a vision to 2060, and is included in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026 - 2030 of Ho Chi Minh City.
When completed, National Highway 50B will contribute significantly to sharing traffic with existing National Highway 1 and National Highway 50, reducing congestion, while creating a strategic traffic axis connecting Ho Chi Minh City with the Western provinces.
New road opening in the Northwest
The new Northwest road is being proposed by the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Management Board to arrange capital to prepare for investment.
The route is nearly 10 km long, 40 m wide, connecting from National Highway 1 (section under Ring Road 2) through Vinh Loc Industrial Park (Binh Chanh) to Provincial Road 823D in Long An province.

The route will have a complete intersection with Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3. The project is estimated to have a total investment of about VND 8,800 billion and is expected to start construction in the period of 2026-2030.
When completed, the route will contribute to reducing congestion in Hoc Mon, Binh Chanh (HCMC) and Duc Hoa districts (Long An), while connecting Ring Roads 2, 3, 4, creating momentum for urban development towards the Northwest.
Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway
The Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway (Tay Ninh) phase 1 is nearly 51 km long, with a total capital of more than VND 19,600 billion under the BOT form, with a scale of 4 lanes.
The section through Ho Chi Minh City is 24.7 km long, affecting about 220 hectares of land and more than 2,000 households in Cu Chi district.

Ho Chi Minh City has approved a budget of more than VND5,000 billion for compensation and resettlement. The payment and land recovery is expected to be completed in 2025.
The project will start construction of the service road and overpass on September 2, 2025, the main expressway will start construction in January 2026 and be completed by the end of 2027.
After operation, the expressway will reduce the load on National Highway 22, shortening travel time between Ho Chi Minh City and Moc Bai border gate.
