The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just assigned the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction to prepare a pre-feasibility study report to adjust the project to upgrade and expand Vinh Loc Street - a vital axis connecting the areas of the western gateway.
Vinh Loc Street is currently only 7 - 8 m wide, with a scale of two lanes, and is often congested due to large traffic volume.
This route plays an important role in connecting former districts such as Binh Chanh, Binh Tan, Hoc Mon, while also serving internal traffic in densely populated areas and industrial parks.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, Vinh Loc Street, 7.2 km long from Tran Van Giau intersection to Road 2A (Vinh Loc Industrial Park), is expected to be expanded to 30 m, with 6 lanes.
The expansion is expected to relieve traffic congestion over the years and increase connectivity for the entire West of Ho Chi Minh City.
Along with expanding the road surface, the project also upgrades important intersections. The Vinh Loc - Tran Van Giau intersection will be designed with additional turning points to ensure convenient vehicles entering and exiting.
The intersection between Vinh Loc - Quach Dieu - Vo Van - Nguyen Thi Tu routes will be built synchronously to improve traffic capacity.
Ba Tri Bridge will be newly built with a width of about 30 m and a length of more than 31 m to meet large traffic volume.

The total investment of the project is estimated at more than 4,300 billion VND from the Ho Chi Minh City budget, implemented in the period of 2026 - 2030.
After completion, Vinh Loc road axis is expected to become a strategic traffic route, contributing to reducing congestion and improving the quality of infrastructure in the western gateway area.
