This is one of the bases for Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) - the first urban railway line in Ho Chi Minh City to be able to operate commercially, expected from December 22, 2024.
Under the new regulations, valid metro tickets must be issued by the operator and must contain all the information required by the type of ticket the passenger chooses to purchase. Passengers have two main types of tickets to choose from: single-trip tickets and pre-sale tickets.
Single tickets allow one trip on a metro line per day, while pre-sale tickets are for frequent travelers over a period of one day or longer and can be used on one or more different lines.
In particular, electronic tickets are also one of the emphasized regulations, in order to meet modern and convenient trends. The ticketing system at the station will be designed to support electronic tickets, ensuring that passengers can choose flexible payment methods such as cash, bank cards or electronic wallets.
Metro operators will have to publicly post ticket prices at stations and on official websites before applying them, helping passengers clearly understand the cost of traveling on metro lines.
The new regulation also clearly states the rights of passengers when using metro services. Passengers have the right to be served according to the standards and quality of service committed by the enterprise, the right to exchange or return unused tickets, and to be compensated in case of damage caused by the fault of the enterprise or the service staff on the train.
To ensure order, passengers will be provided with ticket cards to enter and exit the ticket gates at the stations. In case passengers need to travel beyond the destination on the purchased ticket or have problems with the ticket, regulations require passengers to purchase additional tickets if they go beyond the station or do not have a valid ticket.
In addition, situations such as improper luggage or invalid tickets are also clearly defined for timely handling, ensuring the safety of other passengers and maintaining order at stations and on trains.
The new regulations of Ho Chi Minh City also focus on ensuring safety and protecting the environment when operating urban railways. Violations such as disturbing public order, not complying with the law or regulations of enterprises will be strictly handled.
In particular, in case a passenger cannot continue the journey due to health reasons, the operator will notify the relevant department and the nearest station to promptly support the passenger.
The regulation also provides detailed instructions for handling non-compliant luggage. Enterprises can refuse to transport at the departure station or take the passenger and luggage to the nearest station for further processing if discovered on the train.
In case of detecting dangerous luggage that may affect the safety of the train, the enterprise will notify the authorities and make a handover record for handling according to regulations.
